On February 11th, we hosted our first annual LIFT A Fork event. The event, held at the Embassy Suites in Alpharetta, was a huge success. A debt of gratitude goes to Rachel Broach of Notable Weddings who tirelessly donated hours of time and energy to help bring in the fabulous fare! Guests and supporters enjoyed a wide array of food from the following restaurants: Aqua Blue, Buckhead Bakehouse, Buffalo Wild Wings, Chepe's Mexican Restaurant, Domino's Pizza, Embassy Suites, Gigi's Cupcakes, Good Morning Cupcakes, Hi Life Restaurant, Kroger Centennial Village, Monterrey Mexican Restaurant, Rita's Frozen Custard, Slope's BBQ, Spice Brick Oven and Yoforia. We cannot thank them enough for their support! Please visit these restaurants and thank them in person for supporting their local community!
Guests also enjoyed a fantastic selection of silent auction donations to bid on. Auction items included airline tickets from Southwest, vacation home rental, hot air balloon ride, children's birthday party events, hotel and dining gift certificates, art, jewelry, autographed sports memorabilia and so much more. We had more than a hundred items donated from businesses and individuals from all over North Fulton! What an awesome show of support from the business and retail community. Evelyn Mims, producer of 11Alive's Atlanta & Co, did a fantastic job as host and emcee for the evening. She introduced a few mentors and students who talked about the difference Project LIFT has made in their lives. Guests were also treated to live music from an instrument trio, harpist and singer and also smooth jazz sounds from a local DJ.
Thanks to all of you who came out to the event and shared in the success of the evening. Your support will help us continue to engage and motivate North Fulton students to set and achieve their goals, making a stronger community for us all!
